Wilsons on Moosehead Lake reporting: So much to report! There are many exciting things going on here at Wilsons Camps on Moosehead Lake. We have gone Wi-Fi!!!! We now have a broadband system offering wireless internet to our guests.

ITS 88 from Wilsons at the East Outlet around the back side of Squaw Mountain to the intersection with the Greenville and Forks Trail Systems (ITS 86) is back to pass at own risk. These beautiful sunny days and the heavy traffic have taken a toll on the snow conditions. We are back to bare spots with rocks and stumps in places. Folks are getting through with some bobbing and such, but we won’t be grooming our section unless we receive more snow. There are reports that just north of us there is more snow, and there are still off trail riding opportunities to be had. In fact, the USCC snowmobile race is scheduled to be held as planned on March 20th. There are links on our website for more information. Please stay off unfamiliar bodies of water. There are always some unsafe areas around inlets and outlets. Please use the marked trails.

Cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, and beautiful nature viewing are all at your cottage door! Groomed and maintained cross-country ski trails are just 30 minutes away - FREE trail passes when mentioning to us you saw this advertised! Downhill skiing and snowboarding are just 6 miles down the road at Big Squaw Mountain Ski Resort and lift tickets are only $25. They are open weekends and school vacations. We have some wonderful country stores and gift shops to browse and great restaurants to visit. Come relax with us and enjoy this beautiful region!

Attention Fishermen: Ice fishing opened January 1st! Last winter, our protected cove was just about the only place with safe ice on opening day! Get up here and show us what you can do. The Annual Ice Fishing Derby with Ricky Craven is scheduled for the weekend of January 29th. Great fun and incredible prizes. More details on Chamber Website (see link below).

Fly fishermen had yet another very successful season. The East Outlet is now open all year for fly-fishing only! Catch and release only through May 1st. Plan ahead and make your reservations! Walk right out your cottage door over to the River for some of the best fly fishing! For daily water releases, call 1-800-557-3569 or give us a call at 1-800-817-2549 to make your reservation!

Hunters: Rabbit hunting continues until March 31st. We have packages that range from lodging only to complete guided packages with meals. Plan ahead for this fall for grouse, woodcock, moose and deer hunting.

ATV Riding: Reminder: You must be on marked ATV trails or have written landowner permission! Please respect the landowners. Club trails start at the end of our driveway. We have gas on-site for your convenience. TRAIL UPDATE: The northbound trails to Rockwood and on to Jackman and Canada; along with a trail to Pittston Farm is complete! Make your reservations for spring. The ATV trails are closed for snowmobiling at this time.

The Moosehead Lake Region is full of great family activities year round! Don’t miss the great events- Visit www.mooseheadlake.org for full calendar. The area offers hiking, biking, boating, fishing, and wildlife viewing. You can’t beat the Moosehead air and scenery. A number of our cottages have working fireplaces-perfect for curling up relaxing or reading a good book! Visit Wilsons on Moosehead Lake-Open Year Round.

We still have some openings in our lakefront cottages! Send us an email or give us a call for availability at 1-800-817-2549. We look forward to seeing you real soon.

Come see why folks say we have ‘Moosehead’s Million Dollar View’!
