| Greetings from Aroostook County......... There is still a bit of riding left for diehards but there is no grooming now anywhere in Aroostook nor northern Penobscot. Most of the remaining riding is west of Rt. 11 sledders are advised to check before they head out. The Debouille Loop still has a good snow pack but you will run into some bare ground around logging operations, same with ITS 92 heading towards Escourt. Shin Pond groomed early this week and still has some good back country riding heading west where the snow pack is still pretty good. The weather this week has softened many lakes and although folks are still riding, it is recommended you check locally before venturing out. There is open water appearing around lake edges so extreme caution is advised. Rivers are now open across the crown with no recommended crossings. Most projects have picked up trail markings. Clubs are reminded to check with landowners before heading out to pick up the remaining signage especially if you will be using an all terrain vehicle. ATVers are reminded that trails are not open at this time and that snowmobile trails do not automatically become atv trails. Please respect landowners and wait for clubs to reopen trails later this spring. Projects are reminded that all reimbursement billing for club grants is due in by April 30th. The deadline for municipal grants is May 31st. This winter has been hard on grooming equipment so be sure to continue to support your local clubs throughout the year. As this abbreviated season closes, sledders are reminded to add additive to the fuel tanks, jack up the sled and block the breather boxes and get ready for next season. Thanks to all for a safe snowmobiling season………… Happy Trails……. INFORMATION REGARDING ITS 92 FROM ALLAGASH TO ESCOURT STATION
